Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 29, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how LinkedIn Tailor collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our LinkedIn profile optimization service. We are committed to protecting your privacy and to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Information from LinkedIn sign-in
When you sign in with LinkedIn (OAuth), we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and LinkedIn profile URL.
2.2 Information you provide
- Your uploaded LinkedIn profile PDF (and, optionally, a resume), along with the text and structured data we extract from it.
- Your stated career goals, career status, target roles, and related context you enter during onboarding.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Session data, including IP address and browser/user-agent, used for authentication and security.
- Basic technical logs needed to operate and debug the Service.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you and provide the Service.
- To generate AI optimization recommendations for your profile. This requires sending the relevant profile content to our AI sub-processor (see Section 5).
- To send you service-related messages (for example, when your optimization is ready).
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
- Contract: processing necessary to provide the Service you request (analyzing your profile and generating recommendations).
- Legitimate interests: securing the Service, preventing abuse, and improving reliability.
- Consent: where required, for example optional communications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Sub-processors and Third Parties
We share data only with the service providers needed to run LinkedIn Tailor:
- OpenAI — processes your profile content to generate recommendations. Data sent to the OpenAI API is not used to train their models, in accordance with OpenAI's API data usage policies.
- Cloudflare — hosting, and storage of your uploaded files in Cloudflare R2 located in Western Europe (WEUR).
- Neon — managed PostgreSQL database hosting (EU region).
- LinkedIn — identity provider for sign-in (OAuth).
Each provider has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.
6. Where Your Data Is Stored
- Uploaded files are stored in Cloudflare R2 in the EU (Western Europe).
- Account and profile data are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database in the EU.
- Some processing (AI analysis via OpenAI) may involve transfer to providers outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Data Retention
- We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active.
- When you delete your account, we permanently remove your database records and uploaded files. Routine backups are purged on a rolling basis within 30 days.
- Technical logs are retained only as long as needed for security and debugging.
8. Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent
You can exercise the two most common rights directly in the app: go to your Profile page and use Export my data (downloads a portable JSON copy) or Delete account (permanently removes your account and data). For any other request, contact us at hello@linkedintailor.com.
9. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 16 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Service or by email.
